Lisa Derr has practiced family law for 30 years and has been a mediator for over 20 years. She began her mediation practice after seeing how poorly litigation resolved clients’ divorce issues in the long-term. Lisa is a past director of the Family Law Section Board and a past chair of the Wisconsin State Bar Gender Equity Committee. Lisa has given extensive training in mediation for private companies as well as governmental agencies. She’s a Past President of both the Wisconsin Association of Mediators and the Women’s Affiliate of the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce. She is a current supervisor on the Dodge County Board of Supervisors and also served on the District 13 Committee for the Office of Lawyer Regulation (which regulates attorney misconduct) from 1999 through 2004. She and her husband, Michael, have three sons.

Cassel received her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul College of Law in Chicago, with honors in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1992. Cassel participates as a judge for the Beaver Dam Municipal Teen court for minor juvenile offenses. Cassel coordinates the Regional High School Mock Trial Competition, as well as the Dodge County Elder Law Clinic. She regularly volunteers with the Dodge County Family Law Clinic. She is also the Chair-elect of the Family Law Section Board with the State Bar of Wisconsin and is a past president and current treasurer of the Dodge County Bar Association. She is also a past president and secretary of the Beaver Dam Area Arts Association. Cassel resides in Beaver Dam with her son and husband and is actively involved in the Beaver Dam A.M. Kiwanis.
