Lisa L. Derr

LisaL Derr
Lisa Derr is an experienced Divorce and Family Mediator with three offices in east central Wisconsin. She started the family mediation practice in 1995. Lisa earned her BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1984 in four years despite a serious car accident that involved a 2-month hospital stay. She began practicing law in 1987. For the first 8 years of her career, Lisa litigated personal injury and divorce cases. But she was frustrated with the tremendous financial and emotional cost of divorce trials. Contested hearings inhibited reconciliation and healing for the whole family. She started the Beaver Dam divorce mediation practice in 1995 and with her partner, Cassel Villarreal, expanded to Oshkosh and West Bend ten years later. In mediation, Lisa is a neutral party who helps couples determine their own future with empathy, insight and problem solving. When people review not just the issues, but also their facts and feelings related to the issues, they determine their own future together. Lisa’s clients are satisfied with this process which empowers people even years later. In the fall of 2017, she celebrated 30 years of marriage to her husband, Michael. They have three sons, Nicholas, age 27, Alex age 24, and Paul age 20.

Cassel Villarreal will guide you through your specific legal process providing counseling on your legal options. She understands the importance of knowing the specific details and options unique to your case and will guide you to determine the best decisions for you and your family.

Cassel received her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul College of Law in Chicago, with honors in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1992.
